The Association of Sewing and Design Professionals welcomes all people. We value diversity in our membership and in the larger community, and we are deeply disturbed by systemic racism, oppression, and violence against marginalized groups. As an organization, we stand together against all violence, bias, aggression, and discrimination. A diverse organization means we must work toward these principles in our scholarship, teaching, outreach, and community.
We understand that it is not enough to have bylaws and policies that prohibit discrimination, so we are committing to being an anti-racist, inclusive and diverse organization. The ASDP National Board has committed to a critical evaluation of how we promote our organization, through our website, social media and through our members. We commit to self-reflection, awareness, and education.
